The Saints Peter and Paul Society will offer Stations of the Cross during Lent on Friday afternoons in the Chapel starting @ 2pm. Stations of the Cross are a traditional Catholic prayer that remembers Jesus’ way of the cross. It can be a powerful prayer experience. All are welcomed.

Lent begins on Wednesday, March 6th. The Saints Peter and Paul Society has an opportunity for you to make this Lent your most powerfully, prayer-filled one yet. Our own, Sr. Kathy will be giving a talk on how to pray the Liturgy of the Hours (a powerful exercise that might benefit your Lenten experience). She will speak during Advising on March 4th and after school on March 5th. Both offerings are in the Chapel. Please make plans to attend and make your Lenten walk with Christ as spiritually enriching as possible.
Are you interested in becoming a lawyer or learning more about law careers? The Louisville Bar Association’s 2019 Summer Law Institute (SLI) will be held Sunday, June 16 to Saturday, June 22 at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. This is a 7-day residential program for high school students interested in the law and the legal profession. The schedule will include panel discussions with attorneys and judges, mock trial sessions, and topics taught by attorneys and law school professors. Applications can be picked up at Academic Services.
Juniors—your retreat days continue over the next few weeks. Not sure when you go? Check the rosters posted outside Campus Ministry offices and in your theology classrooms. On your retreat day, report to the cafeteria instead of 1st block. You can dress down in jeans, a collared or Trinity shirt, and sneakers. You’ll be off campus all day and lunch is included. Details will also be sent to your school email the day before your retreat.

The final House contest of the third quarter is the 3-Point Shooting Competition. Each House may have two participants in the contest: one “shooter” and one “rebounder” – or – two “shooters.” Trinity basketball team members are not permitted to participate in the contest. The preliminaries for the competition will take place TOMORROW during Advising in Shamrock Gym. Participants will attempt to make as many shots as they can in two minutes. The two Houses that make the most shots in the preliminaries will move on to the finals. The finals will take place in front of the entire school during the halftime of the Junior/Senior Intramural Basketball Championship on Thursday, March 7.
The bracket for the Junior-Senior House Intramural Basketball tournament has been set. The opening round of tournament play will begin the week after Winter Break. TODAY, Seton will take on Aquinas House at 6 PM and Patrick House will play Becket at 7 PM. TOMORROW, Dante and Toussaint will face off against Toussaint at 6 PM, and Romero and Gonzaga will play one another 7 PM. All tournament games will take place in Steinhauser Gym.

A mandatory captain’s meeting will be held on Monday, March 4 after school in the computer lab to discuss rules and schedules. Play will start Monday, March 18th and run thru the end of April. If you want to play intramural volleyball, but don’t know anyone else who is playing, or you can’t get a full team together, see Mrs. Mason, she’ll match you up with others like you or a team that could use another player.
The Ky Derby Festival Robo Rumble will be held on Saturday. This is a Robotics Competition using LEGO EV3 robots. There are 3 different events – we need builders and programmers! See Mrs. Mason in the Technology Center if you are interested in competing!!
WWII: The Western Front & the Holocaust Tour. Are you ready to make meaningful real-life connections with the events of D-Day, the assault operations of 101st Airborne Division and the atrocities of the Holocaust? Come step back into history with me and your Trinity brothers. In June of 2019, Trinity students will travel abroad to become living witnesses to the atrocities brought about during World War II and by the Nazi Party’s Final Solution. Students will have an opportunity to make real-life connections to events typically only studied in history books. Our history of WWII Western Front and the Holocaust tour will give students the opportunity to explore London, Portsmouth, Caen, Normandy, Rouen, Luxembourg City, Bastogne, Amsterdam, Hannover and Berlin as part of 14-day trek across Western Europe.
