          Office News:

          Freshmen – tomorrow, Sept. 4, is your Rockin’ day. We hope that is a day of fun and bonding with your new housemates.  There are some important pieces of information that you need to know for tomorrow:

          • For tomorrow you may wear jeans, khaki pants, sweatpants, or shorts.  You should wear athletic shoes or other comfortable shoes. No sandals or flip flops. Socks are required.  All freshmen should wear your house t-shirts. See your adviser if you did not receive one. There is a chance that you will get wet or messy so do not wear any clothes that you do not want to get dirty.

            The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there is an error in the application.

           

          • All loose items like wallets, ID’s, keys, and cell phones should be locked inside your locker before you report to your house classroom. Anything in your pockets might get lost.

           

          • When the 7:45 bell rings, report to your assigned house classroom.  Talk to your adviser about where your house will be meeting.

           

          • Most of all, be ready for a great day!

          Monday, Sept. 9: University of Alabama

          Tuesday, Sept. 10: Bellarmine University

          Tuesday, Sept. 17: Eastern Kentucky University

          Thursday, Sept. 19: University of Kentucky

           

          All Seniors who are going on Senior retreat #1: there is a mandatory meeting on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 2:50, right after the senior dismissal bell, in the Chapel. This meeting will only last about 10 minutes and will tell you what to pack and other details for retreat. If you cannot attend, check your school email or see Mrs. Emrich in Campus Ministry for details. Again, there is a meeting Thursday in the Chapel for all seniors going on retreat.

          Show your grandparents how much you love and appreciate them: Bring them to the Grandparent Mass Sunday, Sept. 8, on National Grandparents Day. Campus Ministry will host a mass for Trinity students and their grandparents at 10:00 a.m. in Convocation Hall. Honor your grandparents and the unique relationship you share by inviting them to join you at this special event. Parents and other family members are also welcome to attend.

          Seniors! Check out which colleges will be visiting during advising! Sign up in Ms. Kerns’ FlexTime.

          Mr. Diehl will be selling books before school on Monday, Thursday and Friday and after school every day. If you need to purchase a book, please see him in the cafeteria by Academic Service during one of these times.

          There is still time for you to get your Sports Pass. For any student interested in cheering on the Rocks in all sports come to the athletic office and purchase a sports pass. They are $75 and will allow your access to all home sporting events.  Just show your sports pass at the gate and head in to cheer on your Rocks.

          On Saturday, Sept. 14 we will participate in the Legacy of Life 5K at Our Lady of Lourdes on Breckinridge Lane in honor of Davey Albright. All proceeds of the event go towards supporting donor families and the Satterwhite Patient Assistance Fund.

          Activities:

          Attention ACE rocks: The first informational meeting will be tomorrow, Sept. 4, in Mr CM’s room F332, immediately after school. Mr. Jeff Hoffman, Director of ACE mentor Louisville will be here to talk about ACE. Students who have already signed up and students who are looking for more information about ACE are welcome to attend. The meeting should not last more than 30 minutes.

          The cricket club will meet in the Shamrock hall from 3 to 4 pm, today, Sept. 3. New members are welcome to try out. No prior experience is necessary.

          Attention all Flying rocks…

          The Tim’s Flying Club will meet in Mr.CM’s room F332 Thursday after school, from 3 to 4 pm. Come on time and get ready to FLY.

          Attention Chinese, French, German, & Spanish Club students.

          All of the language clubs will be going to DAVE & BUSTERS on Thursday, September 19.

          We will be there from about 3:15 to 4:30. Sign up online for free games at the Dave & Busters website.

          Parents should pick you up at Dave & Busters at St. Matthews Mall. Cost: $25.

          Trinity’s Robotics club will meet TOMORROW, Sept. 4 – after school in the Technology Center on the ground floor of Old Trinity Hall.  All are welcome!  See Mr. Hammer or Mrs. Mason with questions.

          Are you a judgmental person? Well then – it’s time to use that character trait for good! The Axiom is looking for students to become staff members. We only meet once a month to judge submissions to the page and vote on if they are worthy enough to be published. Being a staff member looks good on a college transcript and also entitles you to a free meal at the end of the year. There is a meeting in Mr. Seng’s room today, Sept. 3, in S353. The meeting will only take a few minutes; if you can’t make the meeting, contact Mr. Seng ASAP.

          If you are a student, please consider submitting your work to The Axiom. There are categories in artwork/photography, written work, music, and video/short film. Each month, we will draw a name from ANYONE WHO SUBMITTED SOMETHING for a gift card. To find The Axiom online, go to the icons on Trinity.rocks.

          Trinity Car Club meeting on tomorrow, Sept. 4, in F136 with Mr. Hammer.

          Are you interested in being a part of the oldest extra-curricular activity in the state?   How about being a part of a state team of excellence?   Do you enjoy meeting people and traveling?  If any of these things sounds interesting to you, come to F233 Thursday to learn more about the Speech and Debate Team.  If you like debating, acting, speaking, or even if you are just interested in learning more about these things, this team is for you.  All grade levels are welcome and no experience is required.   If you can’t make the meeting but you’re interested, stop by and talk to Ms. Z any time.

          Attention all food lovers: The Culinary Club will meet in the school kitchen on Tuesday, Sept 10 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m.  Make plans to attend one or both meetings to say hello to Chef Lee and Chef Jeremy and to learn about some upcoming fantastic food events!  “See you in the Kitchen!”

          Fulfill our call to bury the dead and earn service hours by seeing Mrs. deGolian in the library to join the St. Joseph of Arimathea Society.

          If you are interested in Ping Pong, you can join the ping pong club. The ping pong club meets every other Thursday from 3:10 to 4:10 in the convocation hall. Please sign up with Mr. CM, ASAP in room F332. The club meets in the convocation hall.

          Athletics:

          Interested in trying out for basketball?  If so, there will be Open Gyms on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons in Steinhauser Gym from 3 – 4 p.m. starting Sept. 10 and ending Oct. 8.  Proper basketball attire and shoes must be worn.

          Ever enjoyed a day at the alley? Ever celebrated a strike or spare at the lanes?

          Then, come learn why fun is bowling! Current bowlers and NEW players interested in joining Trinity’s KHSAA bowling team are encouraged to come to an informational meeting at 3pm on Tuesday, September 10 in room S-352, Ms. Darby’s room. Trinity bowling coaches will be here to talk about tryouts, practices, matches and tournaments. Don’t have much experience?

          NO PROBLEM! Trinity coaches are dedicated to helping all of our bowlers become experts in foot positions, oil patterns and how to throw. Guaranteed your average will climb throughout the season. For more information see Ms. Darby in S-352.
