          Office News:

          Attention Trinity Seniors! Trinity High School is planning its annual pilgrimage as a part of the March for Life in Washington D.C. The charter bus will leave THS on Wednesday evening, January 22nd and return Saturday morning, January 25th. We will participate in the March for Life, Youth Mass and Rally and have the opportunity to visit several museums. The cost of the trip is $175.00. For more information and signups, see Mrs. McGuire in S151 before the end of the week. There are only 10 spots left.

          Tickets for The Three Musketeers can be purchased online at www.trinitydota.com. They are $15 for adults and $13 for students/seniors. See Mrs. Durbin in academic services for one $10 student ticket before and after school or during lunches.

          You are encouraged to sign up to donate blood at our annual Fall Red Cross blood drive on Wednesday, November 6 in Shamrock Hall Gym. That’s a White day. You get to miss class for an hour or so – but the actual blood draw time is usually only about 10 minutes. You get snacks!!

          MORE IMPORTANTLY – you get to help save lives – up to 3 lives can be helped or even saved with 1 pint of blood!! 500 Internal Server Error

          After seven collection days, we have raised nearly $20,000 for Dare to Care and twelve Advising groups have reached 100% or better.  We want all groups to get to 100%.  There are only two more collection days until we wrap up tomorrow, Oct. 31

          Junior Retreat days continue next week! On your retreat day, report to the cafeteria instead of 1st block. You can dress down in jeans, tennis shoes, and a Trinity shirt, and dress for the weather—part of the day will be outside. You’ll be off campus all day and lunch is included. Details will also be sent to your school email the day before your retreat.

          All Saint’s Day Mass offered on Friday, November 1 @ 7:20 a.m. and @ 2:15 p.m. in the chapel.

          Attention Trinity: Are you interested to have an intercultural experience with students from Argentina here at Trinity on February 2020 and to travel to Argentina in June?           The Catholic Education Foundation is hosting an essay contest that could earn you $1000.

          • The theme of this year’s essay is “Catholic Schools – Learn, Live, Serve, Succeed”.

          CEF is inviting ALL young Trinity authors to express how our Catholic schools have fulfilling these important roles.

          • The contest is open to all students in Catholic high schools throughout the Archdiocese of Louisville.

           

          • All entries should be printed and turned in to Betsy Darby in room S352.

           

          • Entries are due by Friday, November 15th. 

           

          • All submissions will be judged. One winning essay will be chosen from Trinity and submitted as part of the contest by the December 5th deadline.

           

          • Students should take advantage of Mitch Greenwell’s Writing Workshop for prewriting and editing help. The writing workshop is available Monday through Thursday from 3 to 3:30 in room F232.

           

          • Students may also work with Mr. Greenwell in advising.

           

          • Students should see Ms. Darby in S352 or Mr. Timmerberg in S356 if they have questions.

          Mass or a communion service is offered in the chapel at 7:20 every morning before school.

          House News:

          The House Video Game Tournament will take place on Thursday, November 14.

          The second quarter House marquee events and contests will begin after Fall Break. The quarter will feature three marquee events and five contests.

          Marquees will include the

          • Trinity Department of Theatre Arts production of The Three Musketeers from October 30 to November 9

           

          • Varsity basketball game against Centerville on December 7

           

          • Trinity Department of Music Vocal and Jazz Band Winter Concerts on December 13 and 15.

          Contests will feature:

          • Annual House Football Pass-Kick Contest on October 31

           

          • Annual House Video Game Tournament on November 14.

           

          • Thanksgiving-themed Breakout Contest on November 25

           

          • Christmas TV and Movie Trivia Challenge on December 9.

           

          • Principal Challenge contest will also take place during the second quarter. Each House will design its own crest. These crests will be displayed on House banners as well as promotional materials for the House System.

          Do your part to help your House win a spot in this year’s House Cup Playoffs. See your House Director or Advisor if you’d like to learn more about any of this quarter’s marquee events and contests.

          Activities:

          Uno Club meeting TODAY, Oct. 30, at 3:05-4 pm in F346.

          Freshmen interested in playing intramural basketball must attend an informational meeting tomorrow in Convocation Hall during Advising. During the meeting, Mr. Backes will discuss sign-ups as well as regular season and tournament play. To attend the meeting, students will need to create an e-hall pass prior to leaving their Advising classroom. Mr. Backes will sign you in once you arrive to Convocation Hall. If you any questions regarding the freshman intramural basketball league, please see Mr. Backes in F243.

          The investment club will meet today, Oct. 30, at 3:15 in S252. Please contact Coach Schroeder with questions.

          The Green Cross Service Club is looking for some volunteers to help out with a tree planting project next Saturday, Nov. 2 from 8:00 AM until early afternoon.  Any students looking to complete service hours can see Mr. Budniak in Room F135 for permission forms and details….

          Attention ACE rocks: The third ACE mentoring class will meet today, Oct. 30, in Mr. CM’s room F332, immediately after school. Those who have signed up for the club are also reminded to register online at acementor.org ASAP, if you have not done so. The meeting will last until 5 PM starting at 3 PM.

          Trinity’s Robotics club meets every Monday after school in the Technology Center.  We have Lego Mindstorms and VEX equipment.  Come check us out.

          The speech and debate team will start regular practices after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.  Anyone interested should see Ms. Z in F233 starting this week.   Have a conflict?   Contact Ms. Z for options.  For updates, sign up for the team remind by texting the message @sdrocks19 to the phone number 81010.

          Athletics:

          Coach Beatty and the Football Rocks captured the District Championship on Friday evening with a 44 – 0 win over Eastern.  The victory ensures that Trinity will play at least the first 2 rounds of the playoffs in Marshall Stadium.  The Shamrocks close out regular season play this week on Friday.

          Coach Norman and the Hockey Rocks had two impressive performances over the weekend including a 10 – 2 win over St. X.
